GREYISH BAYWING Agelaioides badius
Once considered a close relative of the cowbirds, the sociable Baywing is now placed in a separate genus. Unlike the cowbirds it is not a brood parasite, in fact it is more often than not the victim of brood parasitism by the Screaming Cowbird, an obligate parasite which has the Baywing firmly in its sights as a foster parent. Juvenile Screamings bear a remarkable resemblance to both adult and juvenile Baywings, the unlucky parents being scammed into raising somebody else´s baby.
