AZARA´S AKODON Akodon azarae
A small Akodon with olive-brown pelage washed with yellowish on the sides and often on the venter. The tail is shorter than the head and body. This is a species typical of marshes and wet grassland and is frequently the commonest small rodent where it occurs. Vole-like not only in appearance but also in respect of the occasional population eruption that can make it temporarily extremely abundant.
