VINACEOUS-BREASTED AMAZON Amazona vinacea ENDANGERED ATLANTIC FOREST
This handsome parrot has declined alarmingly over much of its range and, apart from a few tantalising "maybe" sightings from San Rafael National Park, is largely confined to the eastern Atlantic Forests of Departamentos Alto Paraná and Canindeyú. A nosiy bird like all Amazons, the species can be identified by the red forehead and lilac wash across the breast.
