WHITE-EYED PARAKEET Aratinga leucopthalma
The Aratinga parakeets are the largest of the Paraguayan parakeets, a parakeet being pretty much a parrot with a long tail - note that the unfortunate indivudal (FPAVE2230PH)  has for some reason or another lost his tail, making him half the parakeet he used to be!. White-eyeds are widely distributed but are commonest in eastern Paraguay. In the Chaco they are outnumbered by their close relative the Blue-crowned Parakeet.
