SHORT-EARED OWL Asio flammeus
A medium-sized, semi-terrestrial, day-flying owl of open grassy areas. This species has a wide global distribution, but despite being one of the more frequently observed owl species in Europe, the South American populations are much less common. In Paraguay the species tends to be associated with natural, tall grass grasslands.
