JARARACUSSU LANCEHEAD Bothrops jararacussu
This is the largest and darkest of the Paraguayan Lanceheads and has a frightening capacity for venom production which makes it more willing to bite than many of its congeners. It is a terrestrial species, easily identified by its distinctive dorsal pattern. It goes without saying, that you should not approach this snake if you see it! Wait until it moves on!!
