YELLOW-CHEVRONED PARAKEET Brotogeris chiriri
This chirpy little parakeet is one of the commonest members of its family, even making it into the city centre of Asunción! His scientific name chiriri is a reference to the rapid, twittery noises made by flocks as they fly overhead. In flight their shape resembles a budgie, small and slender with a long tail. Learn his shape well, because as soon as he lands in a tree-top his mostly green plumage renders him invisible amongst the foliage.
