RED KNOT Calidris canutus
The largest and most heavily-built of the Paraguayan Calidrids is the Red Knot. Again it is an uncommon species, though passing through annually in small numbers. It can be recognised by its large size, pale plumage and thick-based "Roman-nose" bill!
