CALLICHTHYIDAE - ARMOURED CATFISH
A family of prehistoric-looking, heavily-scaled catfish - their "armour" consisting of overlapping bony plates. Some species in this family spawn within foam nests, formed by the male through a mixture of mucus and air. The eggs are deposited within the protective bubbles that make up the nest.
