DRYLANDS VESPER MOUSE Calomys musculinus
A fairly large Calomys with the tail approximately the same as head and body length. This species is brownish above with an orange wash on the flanks and face and greyish-white venter. Two white stripes behind the ears help identify it The tail is bicoloured. The species occurs in open habitats and is able to tolerate considerable human activity, though typically it avoids the most xeric microhabitats.
