MATO GROSSO ANTBIRD Cercomacra melanaria
In the dense river islands of the Paraguayan Pantanal, the nasal, wheezy voice of the Mato Grosso Antbird is one of the most commonly heard sounds. However, like most antbirds the singers are not easy to locate, keeping as they do to thick tangly vegetation. Mato Grosso Antbirds are loyal partners, you´ll never find a male without his mate nearby.
