SCHREIBER´S SPECTACLED LIZARD Cercosaura schreibersii
Members of this genus are known as Microteiids or Spectacled Lizards on account of their transparent lower eyelid - which means they can see even with the eyes closed. They are highly variable skink-like lizards with keeled scales, small heads and long tails. This species is distinguished from the extremely similar Cercosaura ocellata by the shape of the dorsal scales, being "squashed hexagons" in this species (see FPREP115PH) and rectangular in C.ocellata. The latter also has a considerably longer tail.
