A hairy little Chaco inhabitant, this species is frequently seen crossing roads during the day, apparently oblivious to the danger posed by passing traffic. It is a common species in the Dry Chaco and frequently found near to human habitation, but becomes less and less easy to see as you get closer to the Rio Paraguay.
