CAIMAN LIZARD Dracaena paraguayensis
Half lizard, half caiman! Ok not quite, but this large semi-aquatic teiid is a charismatic and impressive species typical of the Pantanal region of northern Paraguay. It is most often seen sunning itself on the banks of waterways, but approach too closely and he will slip into the water and disappear before your eyes.
