RED-HEADED RACER Drymoluber brazili
This rarely seen but boldly-marked snake is a cerrado speciality. The first record of the species was from Aguara Ñu in the Mbaracayú Biosphere Reserve. The pictured specimen, found dead on a road in Santa Barbara by field workers from Para La Tierra Ecological Station, is the second record for Paraguay.
