WHITE-CRESTED ELAENIA Elaenia albiceps
If any group of birds is going to have you tearing your hair out with frustration its the elaenias, drab, greenish, and at first sight all identical! You´ll have to study them closely to get a good "feel" for them and take careful note of any vocalisations that they may make. White-crested Elaenia is a passage migrant, which means he neither breeds nor winters in Paraguay, but passes through during the peaks of migration. Beware that lots of Elaenias have a white crest, its just a bit more obvious in this species!
