LARGE ELAENIA Elaenia spectabilis
Large Elaenia is a common summer visitor to Paraguay, though it is often overlooked because of its close resemblance to the familiar Yellow-bellied Elaenia. Despite his size he is rather shy, his quiet, unobtrusive whistling call usually the first indication of his presence - he calls often! Besides his voice, the easiest way to identify him is by his wing-bars, this is the only large Elaenia with three!
