WEDGE-TAILED GRASSFINCH Emberizoides herbicola
The Wedge-tailed Grassfinch is a strangely-proportioned bird, with a long tail, long neck, small head and pot belly his jizz is quite unlike any other species - except of course his close relative the Lesser Grassfinch. He inhabits tall grass meadows where he can be difficult to see for most of the day, except for when he decideds to sit up and deliver his daily concerto. Fortunately his voice is very different from that of the Lesser Grassfinch which helps clinch his ID.
