CHESTNUT-BELLIED EUPHONIA Euphonia pectoralis ATLANTIC FOREST
An Atlantic Forest Euphonia, this species is a frequent inhabitant of mixed species flocks. As with other Euphonias males are boldly-coloured, females are duller and more uniform - though the chestnut vent of the olive female gives a clue to her identity. Despite the attractive plumage of this species, the jarring JA-JA-JA call of this species is anything but attractive on the ear!!!
