JAGUARUNDI Herpailurus yaguarondi
A strange cat, with a weirdly elongated form, long tail and stubby legs, the Jaguarundi is one of the more frequently encountered members of its family. It occurs in several colour forms, black, red and yellowish, and is a svelte and efficient hunter. As likely to be encountered in the Chaco as in the humid forests it is an adaptable species that feeds mainly on rodents and small birds.
