CLIFF FLYCATCHER Hirundinea ferruginea
Though common in many parts in South America, and even an urban bird in some areas, the Cliff Flycatcher is locally distributed in Paraguay where the central cerros provide the only suitable habitat. Its a handsome creature, rich rufous-chestnut in colouration, but wait until he takes flight, his wing pattern really catching the eye! He is common where he occurs, so it is a shame that the Cliff Flycatcher isn´t more widespread, maybe if there were more cliffs...?
