FAUNA Paraguay Gallery of Bird Photographs and Videos Part 1
We currently have images of the following 641 species taken in Paraguay. After the species name, within each individual gallery the global conservation status is given in red, and eco-region endemism in blue (where applicable). Click on family links for their characteristics.
An asterisk (*) before the species name means that a video is also available. We currently have videos of 407 species recorded in Paraguay. Depending on the size of the video file and the speed of you internet connection the video may take a while to download. Once the image appears click on it to start the video, click on it again to pause it. Users of Mozilla Firefox may have some problems, the option works best with Internet Explorer.
The symbol (§) before a species name means that a recording of the vocalisation of the species is included in the image gallery. We currently have sound recordings of 330 species made in Paraguay. Click the link to hear the call. Longer versions of the calls on this site can be downloaded from the Paraguay page of our partner website Xeno-Canto - the largest collection of freely downloadable Neotropical bird calls available online. Call recordings of species not represented in the image gallery can be found on the bird calls page. There are currently 8 species featured on that page.
