WHITE-WINGED BLACK-TYRANT Knipolegus aterrimus
Despite being fairly common elsewhere in its range, the White-winged Black-Tyrant is an uncommon migrant in Paraguay with a range limited to the Chaco. It is fairly large compared to other members of its genus. Whilst males are indeed black with a white band across the wings, the female is quite different, similar to the females of many Black-Tyrants, and warmly-coloured in browns and rufous.
