RUFOUS-TAILED TYRANT Knipolegus poecilurus
Few new species to the Paraguay list could be more unexpected than this one, a high Andean forest specialist with the core of its range in Peru and Ecuador. A few records from Bolivia suggests occasional vagrancy, but getting all the way to the lowlands of the Paraguayan Chaco is a pretty spectacular feat of getting lost. Found by Kevin Easley during a FAUNA Paraguay tour, we all had to see it to believe it!!!
