BUDGETT´S FROG Lepidobatrachus asper
Ugly is as good a descriptive word as there is for this frog - his huge head and beady eyes give him a distinctive appearance. Mean is another, he is large and aggressive and doesn´t need to be asked twice to vent his anger, the rows of tooth-like odontoids that line his mouth capable of inflicting a nasty bite! This is a subterranean species, spending much of the year encased in an underground cocoon and emerging only during the rainy season.
