ELENA“S THIN-TOED FROG Leptodactylus elenae
A widespread frog found in both dry and arid areas. This species, like many members of the genus, is a burrow dweller and as a result is sometimes difficult to find. Listen out for his pleasant double-whistled call, given from in or near his burrow, but be quick, he“ll take refuge underground at the first sign of disturbance. He can be identified by the sharp snout and the thin yellow line along the rear side of the thighs.
