WHITE-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD Leucochloris albicollis
Despite being a common garden hummingbird in northern Argentina and much of southern Brazil, this distinctive species has a somewhat patchy history in Paraguay. There are no shortage of records, widely scattered across the Orient and Chaco regions, but the bird doesn“t appear to occur anywhere with any real regularity. Its status in the country is thus uncertain, and though it presumably breeds, most Paraguayan records may in fact be wondering individuals.
