SHARP-TAILED STREAMCREEPER Lochmias nematura
Although a member of the ovenbird family, the Streamcreeper has adapted to a lifestyle that fills a similar niche to the Northern Hemisphere Dippers (Cinclidae). He occurs along streams in humid forest areas, hopping out onto half-submerged rocks and logs where he can be surprisingly tame. The subspecies inhabiting eastern Paraguay has a broad white supercilium, not shared by birds in western South America.
