SOUTHERN STRIPED SNAKE Lygophis meridionalis
Formerly classified in the genus Liophis, this is a fast-moving, ground-dwelling snake. It is a widespread species in grassy habitats, feeding mainly on small frogs. This species can be identified by its simultaneously striped and spotted scale pattern.
