BUFF-BELLIED PUFFBIRD Notharchus swainsoni ATLANTIC FOREST
A large, sometimes quarrelsome puffbird of the Atlantic Forest. He makes his nest in arboreal termite mounds, digging a tunnel into the nest, leaving the annoyed insects to repair the damage done by the tunnel walls, leaving a perfect nest chamber. Not exactly friendly neighbours, but the two manage to put up with each other for long enough for the puffbird to raise his brood.
