LONG-TAILED POTOO Nyctibius aethereus
A huge potoo with an exceptionally long tail, this species is found in humid forested areas. Unlike its widespread relative the Common Potoo, it is a rare and local species in Paraguay and there are very few records. By day they pose with head pointed skyward imitating a broken branch. If it wasn´t for the individual in (FPAVE715PH)´s inappropriate choice of roosting perch he would likely have passed unnoticed!
