GEOFFROY´S FREE-TAILED BAT Nyctinomops laticaudatus
Bats in the genus can be recognised by their "free tails" and wrinkled upper lip, a feature they share only with the rarely recorded genus (in Paraguay at least) Tadarida. This is the smaller of the two Paraguayan species (which are otherwise very similar!) having a forearm length of less than 50mm.
