PALE-VENTED PIGEON Patagioenas cayennensis
A large and handsome pigeon with his wine-coloured neck and upper back, the Pale-vented is a shy bird associated with forested areas. They are relatively common but it is rare to get a good look given their habit of perching high and flushing quickly upon approach. In flight note that they donīt show any white un the wing, unlike their equally common relative the Picazuro Pigeon.
