MOUSE-COLOURED TYRANNULET Phaeomyias murina
Now while there arenīt many mice running round that are this colour, the monotypic genus Phaeomyias sums up the acronym LBJ (little brown job). Dull, boring and easily overlooked, birders in search of this tick will be happy that he has a distinctive, gravelly voice that identifies him. Note that the bright orange bill in the specimen below isnt the norm. More often the bill looks mainly black with a pinkish base. This one just fancied adding a bit of colour to an otherwise mouse-coloured existence.
