WILLIAM´S SIDE-NECKED TURTLE Phrynops williamsi
A highly-aquatic forest turtle preferring stony bottomed streams. It can be identified by the boldly-striped head pattern with some beige vermiculations on the upper head. There are few records from Paraguay where it seems to be widespread but very uncommon.
