BLAZE-WINGED PARAKEET Pyrrhura devillei PANTANAL
A controversial species from the eastern Chaco and Cerrados of northeastern Paraguay. Distinguished from the common and widespread Reddish-bellied Parakeet Pyrrhura frontalis by the red shoulder and red-and-yellow underwing coverts, they have been reported to hybridise in some parts of their range. To confound matters the two species often occur together, meaning that a careful eye is required to spot one in the crowd.
