REDDISH-BELLIED PARAKEET Pyrrhura frontalis
Despite being one of the more numerous Parakeets in the humid forest, the Reddish-bellied, in common with many other members of its clan, is frustratingly difficult to observe. The green colouration of parrots, apparently gaudy when taken out of context, helps them to blend in with a background of verdant leaves in the dappled forest light.
