BROWN WHITE-LINED BAT Saccopteryx leptura
This species, only the second member of its family, was first documented for Paraguay in July 2012 - the individual in the images below. Though a fairly widespread species, this was a considerable range extension from northern Bolivia. Saccopteryx bats are fairly tolerant of light conditions, and this individual was captured roosting by day on the outside of a building.
