SOUTHERN AMAZON RED SQUIRREL Hadrosciurus spadiceus
This handsome species is known only from a single specimen from the Bahía Negra area. A couple of sightings of the species indicate that it is uncommon even in the remote area in which it occurs. Formerly known as Sciurus urucumus.
