RUSTY-BARRED OWL Strix hylophila ATLANTIC FOREST  NEAR THREATENED
This handsome Atlantic Forest owl is an increasingly rare sight in the larger forest bodies of eastern Paraguay. Essentially the humid forest equivalent of the Chaco Owl, it is best detected by its harrowing screeching call. Enough to scare the pants of you on a dark forest trail unless you know the source!
