YELLOW TEGU Salvator duseni
The cerrado tegu, this enormous lizard is apparently indistinguishable at the genetic level from the Chaco Red Tegu. However obvious differences in morphology and colouration, as well as different habitat preferences leading to isolation of the two (Red Tegu is from the Dry Chaco) mean that herpetologists consider this a good species resulting from a recent speciation event. Yellow Tegu can be identified by the yellowish background colouration (some individuals are very dark, some very pale, but the pale areas are always yellowish not whitish or pinkish) and the black nose.
