RED TEGU Salvator rufescens
Up in the Chaco lives a hefty, thick-necked, iguana-like lizard - the Red Tegu. Despite his huge-size and dragon-like appearance, he is an extremely shy creature that is difficult to observe, being prone to running rapidly for cover at the slightest sign of danger. A gentle giant, they are opportunist omnivores who will help you finish off your asado if you are willing to share.
