EASTERN SLATY-THRUSH Turdus subalaris ATLANTIC FOREST
If you are lucky enough to hear the clanging voice of this secretive forest thrush you may be mistaken for thinking that somebody is scratching their fingernails down a blackboard. In a family of beautiful songsters, this migrant was at the back of the queue when singing voices were handed out. The movements of the species are not well known in Paraguay, the species appearing suddenly and sometimes being temporarily abundant, before apparently disappearing again, sometimes for several years.
