RED-TAILED VANZOSAUR Vanzosaura rubricauda
Another cool-looking Microteiid with an even cooler name. Skink-like it is instantly recognisable by its striped body and contrasting red tail. It is a rarely-recorded lizard (more likely because of the difficulties involved in catching and observing it than because of actual rarity) and occurs in dry grassy areas, especially in the cerrado zone.
